The stocktaking phase has collected exemplary practices in Augmented and Immersive Reality (A&IR) education that embody innovative, blended (digitally supported), and constructive teaching and learning methodologies.
The development of the competence frameworks creates the theoretical backbone of the A&IR literacy approach for the students and the teachers and is therefore essential for the project.
An adaptation of the ARLectio platform to provide teachers with a simple authoring tool for designing AR treasure hunt activities and students with an easy-to-use A&IR application.
The ARIES Support-Hub is a dedicated space designed to support innovative teaching and learning through the integration of Augmented and Immersive Reality (AR/IR) technologies. It provides resources, tools, and courses to empower teachers, trainers, and students in exploring and applying these cutting-edge technologies effectively in education.
The ARIES project places strong emphasis on dissemination and communication to ensure that its research outcomes reach a wide audience, including scientists, policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public. Through a variety of tools and channels—such as newsletters, press kits, digital flyers, and multilingual materials—ARIES promotes transparency, engagement, and knowledge sharing across all partner countries. These efforts are aligned with the project's commitment to fostering collaboration and maximizing the societal impact of its results.
As part of ARIES, a coordinated piloting action brought the project’s approach into real secondary-school classrooms across partner countries and France. With the support of schools and consortium partners, 23 pilots engaged 453 students to test how elements of Augmented and Immersive Reality can be meaningfully integrated into traditional teaching. Coupled with Design Thinking, these pilots explored new ways to enhance engagement, creativity, and problem-solving, while generating concrete evidence on the feasibility and impact of the ARIES methodology. The insights gathered here inform both the refinement of our tools and their future deployment at scale.
