Didždvaris Gymnasium actively participates in the Erasmus+ project ARIES (Augmented and Immersive Reality for Improved Education in Schools in Europe), which aims to integrate augmented and immersive reality technologies into the educational process, promoting students’ creativity, technological skills, and interdisciplinary cooperation.

Interdisciplinary activities were implemented at Didždvaris Gymnasium, and innovative educational methods were applied in classrooms:
• In Mathematics classes, students explored the sections and rotations of 3D shapes using augmented reality (AR) tools to develop spatial thinking and visual perception.
• In English lessons, students used the RealityMax app to create an interactive map of public spaces in Šiauliai city, enriched with AR and 3D objects. This project not only helped them discover their hometown’s art but could also be applied in tourism and community information.
• In IT lessons and during the Erasmus event on October 16th, “Learning Meets A&I Reality!”, students created interactive AR posters, combining visual content with elements of augmented reality.
• An integrated English and IT lesson was also delivered, where students created AR Christmas cards in English using artificial intelligence tools such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copy.ai. These activities promoted both technological and linguistic abilities.

The project was also presented internationally: Computer Science teacher Kristina Rimkuvienė and Mathematics teacher Lydija Dronova-Platbarzdė participated in the international discussion “Digital Teacher – Growing Student 2024”, where they shared good practices in applying AR in education and introduced tools such as Merge Cube, Halo AR, and CoSpaces.
Additionally, the project activities were presented at the Didždvaris Gymnasium Teachers’ Conference “Leadership and Innovation: The Road to the Quality of a Modern School”, where English teacher Alla Chvostova, Computer Science teacher Kristina Rimkuvienė, and Mathematics teacher Lydija Dronova-Platbarzdė led a workshop titled “Innovative Learning Using Augmented and Inclusive Reality”. The teachers demonstrated how AR platforms can be easily applied in daily educational processes.

The project currently involves 104 students, 5 of whom will participate in the final conference on September 24–26 in Alcamo, Italy, where they will also take part in a training PR workshop.

The ARIES project has become a successful example of how augmented reality technologies can enrich learning, increase student engagement, foster meaningful interdisciplinary projects, and share innovative experiences both in Lithuania and abroad.
