On September 26, during the European Researchers' Night โ€“ SHARPER 2025 โ€“ the Institute for Educational Technology of the National Research Council (CNR-ITD) in Palermo will present an exciting and immersive activity titled "S.O.S. Planet Earth: Augmented Reality Treasure Hunt", part of the ARIES project.

Participants will embark on a digital treasure hunt using mobile devices to uncover clues scattered throughout the environment. Through augmented reality (AR), they will visualize digital content overlaid on the real world, leading them to a hidden final objective. This interactive experience is designed to raise awareness about climate change and sustainability, aligning with the Horizon Europe mission on climate adaptation and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and SDG 13).

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore other cutting-edge AR and mixed reality technologies in a dedicated demo area, making this event a unique blend of science, technology, and environmental education.
